well Holland kicked off there Euro 2008 campaign in emphatic style. Beating Italy 3-0. I was quite amazed at how well Holland played in all aspects on the field. My prediction of a 2-2 draw looked even less slightly as Holland were 2-0 up within 30 minutes.

Although Italy had a few chances they were not firing on all cylinders. Luca Toni missed a sitter.. But most of the play and apressure came from Holland even up until the last whistle.

When a great shot came in from Prilo and an even better save from Edwin Vandersar. Holland countered in no less than 17 seconds and put the game beyond Italy’s reach with a superb header home from Van Bronckhorst. Although 3-0 down Italy still attacked HOlland’s goal although not with enough spark to make an impact. and it all ended with a superb start for Holland and a disapointed Italy.

This was one of the most aniticapted matches of the qualifiers and it didnt disapoint. Hollan have staked there claim to Euro 2008, lets see if they can make it to the final.
