A great opening 20 minutes from Austria and Poland. Both knowing full well the winner will be in the driving seat for the next round. Boruc was forced in to making an excellent save on the 10 minute mark with a one on one with Martin Harnik.

Amazingly the same feat was repeated twice within 3 minutes of each other with Martin Harnik and Christoph Leitgeb again in on goal but failing to capitalise. How Austria wasnt atleast 1-0 up is a mystery. Thats 3 terrific chances now and no goal.

Disaster struck on the 30th minute against the run of play when Roger Guerreiro slots in a deflected shot to take Poland 1-0 up. Although on closer inspection it should of been ruled off-side. The hosts arent having much luck in Euro 2008 Austria or Switzerland.

With a few chances from both sides and a lot of high energy football. Half time draws near and the ref blows the whistle. Second half picks up much like the first. With both teams pressing the ball and Austria have carried over their first half.

Austria were again unlucky not to get a penalty shout when Pawel Golanski had his hands all over Andreas Ivanschitz. Jacek Bak was next to take a shot at the other end only for Austira’s goalie to make a superb save with his right leg to keep Austria in the fight.

Macho was in action again not long after with a heroic save to deny Jacek Krzynowek’s sizzling 35 yard free-kick as Austria’s hopes ebbed away towards the end of the game.

But with only moment left Howard Webb ruled that Mariusz Lewandowski pulled down Sebastian Proedl in the box and duly awarded a penalty. An ecstatic Austira lift there heads to see substitute Vastic slam home the penalty making him the oldest goal scorer in Europeam championship history and giving Austria the life-line they need. Only Germany to beat in a few days time and they could just see the quarter finals still.

Final Score: 1-1
Verdict: Good Entertaining game..
